Boomerang Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Hi all, Just informing after the last update, (this end), the loading screen for any single player or multiplayer selection freezes when trying to run both COD and Tobruk. Steam files were validated, cache folder within documents was cleared, sreen resolution was lowered and nothing seems to assist with loading. Prior to the last update, all was loading fine & running fine. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Regards
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 S! Is it a total freeze? In Win10/11 the loading progress bar can be slow, like nothing happens at first. After a bit it runs ok. Putting the Launcher64.exe to Win 7 compatability might help. 2

Regards Can you confirm you were able to launch the game initially before you encounter this problem? And the problem occurs when you attempt to launch a mission or join an online server? 1

It does seem strange? Should I completely uninstall, clean and re install possibly? (will try this tonight and report back of outcome). Windows, Chip and Graphic Drivers are all current as well. It's awful choosing to raise things like this, I was hoping it was just something simple I've missed. Regards, Thanks for the reply Buzzsaw.

Ok, you are saying it won't launch at all... in that case, it is probably your anti virus blocking the game. Put an exception in your AV for the entire CLIFFS OF DOVER install folder and see if that works. 1
Boomerang Posted October 21, 2021 Author Posted October 21, 2021 Fresh install did diddly squat. However, ALT+TAB, (after waiting approx 3 min on loading screen, then much less after that), seemed to work? When exited and re run, ALT TAB was needed again after sighting a black screen. I checked the Windows comparability mode and by default this appeared blank, before setting to Win7 for comparability, (as Flanker had mentioned). This solved everything. Have had many Windows updates recently as well, so I'm not sure if thus had anything to do with the loading? Thanks a bunch Flanker ? Windows7 Compatibility Mode within the .exe saved the day. Note: Loads fast now also. 10 minutes ago, Buzzsaw said: Ok, you are saying it won't launch at all... in that case, it is probably your anti virus blocking the game. It did appear that way as there was no activity at all, (prior to trying ALT + TAB, then clicking back on the game, which appeared to be running in the background with no sound)? Win 7 Compatibility mode saved within the game's executable seemed to solve the screen issues. I forgot about that one, but it's all good, maybe helpful anyways. 1 1

Glad to hear its working for you... thanks to Flanker for his suggestion... I think the Win 7 Compatibility is mentioned in the 'Getting Started... Guide' too. 1
