Admittedly if we get a flyable Walrus of He-59 in Desert Wings it'd be pretty cool to have air-sea rescue missions. Another role for the two-seat Defiant too (as they were used for spotting and vectoring rescue aircraft to downed aircrews).

Though this probably won't happen in the next IL-2 Dover installment, I hope that if they decide to make the Walrus flyable then they can be launched off ships via catapults, and also do this if the devs go to the Pacific and add the Kingfisher and F1M2 "Pete", but probably they'll be made flyable first before the catapult launch feature is implemented.

Usually never make it to the water anyway, I require a toughened chute patch, it collapses to easily under machine gun rounds.

When I do venture online, I far to frequently have to resort to hitting the silk, during one of my recent ventures (due to AAA), I found myself dangling over a lake, fortunately for me I ended up landing close by the shore on dry land, but it was touch and go there fore a moment, so I can only agree that drowning should not be the only outcome available to those of us who have so many frequent faller points.

 

As far as the Axis powers are concerned, the "relative" ease of adding floats to the existing Ju52 would provide an quick flyable SAR solution for the Luftwaffe. While you're at it the addition of a degaussing ring would also make it visually more interesting.

That being said, I'd dearly love to see a Do24, even if only as an AI.
