Hello,

Apologies if this issue has been raised - I looked for it and didn't see a post here. I am experiencing a CTD when launching my steam install of IL-2 BOS. I'm using a simple steam install of the game with no mods or anything, and I have never had a problem launching the sim until today. Apparently I am not the only one experiencing this issue today, per the steam forum. It appears as though it might be a steam issue, but I thought I'd raise it here if anyone knows how I might be able to work around it.

Thanks!

I have the same issue.  I have BoS through Steam and everything else direct from the Il-2 store.  I also have a clean install with no mods.  I have tried loading in VR and regular 2D monitor, and both crash to the desktop just prior to the main menu screen loading, after the initial loading screen has "completed" - the red bar has filled up all the way to the right.  About 10 seconds or so later, I get a rotating hourglass and it crashes to the desktop.  I have tried validating Steam files twice, and of course a clean restart of my PC.  I just flew last night with no issues.

Same issue here - just started today. Given the steady influx of reports I'm guessing it'll get a lot of attention fairly quickly. Here's hoping for a fast fix.

I just launched the game successfully using the Il-2.exe file in the Steam install folder.  It loaded to the account login screen, I logged in, and all of my content seems to be available.  I bought BoS on Steam, and all other content direct from the Il-2 store, and the BoS map is available in Quick Mission, as are all aircraft, and I could create a BoS career.

At least this seems to work in the interim, until the Steam issue is resolved.  I hope this works for others, as well

1) go to the steam folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game

2) right click on il2 icon and run as adminstrator

3) Wait for IL2 load...enter in IL2 credentials

4) proceed...

I have access to my careers but can't fly the ones involving some of the planes I purchased on Steam (Macchi 202, P40), those planes are now locked in the planning room and are nowhere to be found in QMB. I have also noticed that it is not possible to log to the devs's site (this site) using my Steam address and password. So I assume that the link between the two accounts has been compromised.

That's odd, it must not be an across-the board issue.  There are a number of people playing a number of things on my Steam friends list.

It showed my kids on B4B also but I was talking to them and they could not get in

That is very strange.  All of my content appears to be available in QMB and career mode.  I had linked my accounts back when, also.

Hmm strange. I've played ARMA 3 and a few other titles with no problems

Per this:

... it appears they deployed some sort of patch. Can confirm my game launches normally now.

The patch seems to work; I have recovered all of my content and everything now runs smoothly

The problem was solved by rechecking the files in the steam?

It was a server-side issue on Steam, which they have resolved, apparently. Thanks for checking!
