UV2 back seat and other non accessible seats

Is there a way to access the UV2 backseat?

i noticed that on some bombers, not all positions were accessible either. I think in particular the bomber position, but I’d guess it’s because there’s a generic bombsight for it ?

You can only access the back seat if you select the gunner's armament.

Left ctrl + C to change position iirc.

I think only the A20 has a position that is inaccessible, the bombardier seat. You also can't occupy the JU-52 co-pilot seat.

Yeah, I've always wanted to be able to sit in the Ju-52 co-pilot seat.

A 20 also appears to have provisions for the gunner to fly the plane.

Yes, it does, as do many of the two-seater WWI planes.

With vr and a big room you can actually just get up and move to the co-pilot seat. You can even get in the back and be a passenger ?

I wonder if there's any recorded instances of the gunner landing the plane

During a night raid on April 23rd, 1943, the 25 year old pilot Mladshiy Leytenant Yevdokina „Dusya“ Nosal of 46 GNBAP (the „Night Witches“) in her 345th(!) bombing mission was shot and killed by Leutnant Wolf-Udo Ettel (II./JG3) flying his Bf-109 the sky near Novorossiysk. The navigator, 23 year old Mladshiy Leytenant Glafira „Ira“ Kashirina, both had to reach over and pull back the corpse of her dead pilot and fly and land the damaged aircraft. As Dusya was killed, her body lumped forward, blocking the stick in a forward position, sending the U-2 in a steep dive from which Ira had to recover by standing up and reaching all the way down in the front cockpit to pull up the dead body of her pilot. Then she flew back to home base while holding her dead comrade back upright in the seat and landed the aircraft. Dusya was poshumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, Ira was awarded the Order of the Red Banner.

Udo Kettel, aged 22, flew home to Anapa, thinking he bagged his 86th victory. Given who he killed, he might be forgiven this slight overclaim. He was killed just about three months later by ground fire over Sicilly, on July 17th, 1943. His final tally was 124 victories.

Ira was shot down and killed three months later by Oberfeldwebel Josef Kociok from 10.(Nacht)/ZG.1.

Is it only possible in VR?

In the UV2 you can just switch to the back seat (as long as you select the gunner modification), I don't really understand what the problem is?

Its possible because you are able to move physicaly to the co pilot seat so unless you can move like thst with buttons i think you need vr. I never play il2 non vr so dont know if you can.

I was not asking about UV2. Answer for this was clear.
I was asking about moving around in the plane as @Sandmarken explained he could do in VR.

Alright, in that case I misunderstood you, but you might want to post something to say that you understand it, or at least give thanks to the person who answered it (the heart on the bottom right). Otherwise, how are we to know that you've understood? ;)

There are certain keys you can use to move a bit around the plane (I'm not in-game right now so I can't check what they're called; however they shouldn't be too hard to find). Not sure how far you can move. If it doesn't work for non-VR, then I'm afraid there's no way to do it.

Yes you’re right. My bad. I usually give thanks for all the answers at the end. I was just having this one more question about wandering around big planes like bombers.
BTW I didn’t know about this icon in the bottom right for giving thanks. Thanks for telling me! :)
