Best CPU for VR

What is the latest view for best CPU to run VR with Il-2?
 

Other recommendations for Mobo and RAM would be also much appreciated. I was able to get my hands on 3090 but currently I am bottlenecked by i7 CPU and considering changing this…

I run a 3090/5800X on an X570 Tuf Wifi board, and have never been bottle necked by the CPU. I'm pretty much maxed out settings wise without FSR. You can see the frame times on my "VR Temps" post. I would probably wait for Alder lake, or the upcoming AMD 3D chips, for the absolute best CPU coming out in the near future. I believe the 5900X is probably the "best" as of right now though for gaming..

Basically,  AMD's Zen3 CPUs and Intel's  11 series are at the top.

12th gen intel CPUs should be better than 11th gen, but are not out yet. 11th gen and AMD's Zen3 Ryzens are strong. AMD's offerings are much more power efficient and have better multithreading performance, than 11th gen Intel CPUs. The 12th gen, that's coming next month, should be better than both. 

  I'm not sure this is a good upgrading time, though. At this point, I would only upgrade to a newer platform, with DDR5.

Chips have and will be released that outperform the current generations. It has always been like this, and will always be like this.
