Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Hey guys ! HDR question.... I've been enabling HDR since I started playing DCS and IL2, and then X-plane too... Although my monitors are not HDR ready, when I enable HDR as an option on one of these sims, I get the idea there are some effects that really come to play, and make it look better this is surely true about X-Plane where some features are actually only available (such as some types of AA ) when HDR is enabled, but, question is, does it make sense since my monitor doesn't make it ?
SharpeXB Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 The HDR setting in IL-2 is not the same “HDR” on displays. Yeah it’s confusing.
Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Yes, that's it ! I should have known, for quite a while... I recently upgraded to a modern Ryzen and a 3700 Ti, so, I decided to push the graphics settings in IL2, and wow ! Looks like I have a new sim :-)

Hey I still count as newbie in IL-2. Ehm can you explain it little bit? I only fly in VR and my screen in also no HDR screen so I have never turned that on. What does it do in IL-2 than if it is not HDR color space for capable displays?
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 (edited) Software HDR makes game look brighter for sure other things you can compare for yourself , it's hard to tell but I have feeling it helps with spotting like sharpen does. Edited October 18, 2021 by 1PL-Husar-1Esk
