Great clouds and great news! However, I can't figure out one thing. In all the pictures from the cockpit of the mosquito in flight simulators, the vertical speed indicator is not visible. But this is the most important piece of equipment! How could pilots use the vertical speed indicator in a real cockpit? And is it a normal situation when we don't see it?

So, will the Mosquito and the Baguette (whatever it is :P) be released in the next update? What about the new fuel system and droptanks? Glad to see work is coming along, but please dont rush! Take as long as you need to make sure whatever you release is top notch (like it ALWAYS is <3) and uhh... Take it easy on ol' Mike, let him open the cowl flaps a little bit before you engage WEP. Much love to all you developers! <3<3<3

Convective clouds ftw!

How nice it would be to fly with an I-153 through those clouds!

IL 2 TEAM!!! THESE CLOUDS LOOK AMAZING!!! so much better than before in my opinion!! and that mosquito cockpit is getting me hyped!! I am just ecstatic to know how far the IL-2 franchise is coming!! thank you again for all of your painstakingly hard work!!! :salute:

And speaking of new planes, could we get a later model P-47 added to our skies?

Would love to see an I-153 and HS-123 as a collector set, that would be pretty epic.

I'm backing the twin engined Gloster, as while I'd be happy to go with the Mustang MK.I, I reckon the Meteor is more appropriate for the time line of the two ETO maps we will soon have. Plus there's been a poll for the Meteor and not for the Mustang MK.I

I just hope if it is the Meteor the research gives up a MK.I & a MK.III

Yes that is the 2nd most likely I would bet for. Both will work for Rheinland and Normandy maps. Whatever it is, either Mustang Ia or Meteor I/III, I would be a happy camper.

Will be happy with whatever we get, B-26 would be nice, but b-25 is ok, Walrus....not so much because I'm not cleaning up after the Elephant! We had Elephant's in the backyard in Rhodesia....amazing, beautiful (soft to touch) ......and the low rumble they make is amazing.

There has also been some good news with some research endeavors Jason has working on. If all goes well It may bring a new warbird to our skies. One that many of you have asked for. Stay tuned for more on that.

I think it's likely the B25, for the following 3 reasons:

Many people have been asking for an allied medium bomber for an very long time.

The B25 is mentioned in the announcement '2020 Year in Review' as an aircraft both the community and the devs wants to see, the other 2 aircraft mentioned have already been announced as collector vehicles.

The B25 was used by many nations including Soviets/USA/British in Western Europe/Eastern Europe/Mediterranean/Italy/Pacific.

Great update, lots of things being worked on at the same time.

I'd love to learn more about the Normandy map in a future update, it is the thing I'm most excited about by a mile.

Maybe it didn't had it by design idk, VSI is not required piece of equipment in aviation, altimeter and ASI are!

Or if you see ashtray installed in the coclpit than you've found where VSI was installed ?

Is it the.....Zero?

Alas, the chances for a Zero are, mathematically, very nearly zero.

New war Bird?
I think it will be the Ju 52 Bomber variant.
And the devs hope some confused pilots think they buy B 52…?

Without joking I think it will be the Bf 109 G10?

These new clouds can only mean one thing.

We're finally ready for the MTO, and the eruption of Vesuvius in 44!

My money is on a B-25 :)

Clouds and the Mosquito cockpit both look excellent, cannot wait.

Thank you very much for the update, really appreciated.:drinks:

Oh, and the surprise aircraft, a Blenheim Mk.I maybe for the I.A.R 80 to escort.;)

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

These clouds look fantastic!

What would be the most asked for plane in this franchise?

If we're talking theater, would be the Zero if the "research" came through.

Would it perhaps be a Dornier series bomber?

Could it be something bigger and taxing like a B-17?

Another 109 varient?

Corsair?

I personally would love to see Early war kites like a Spit Mk.II...  or a Flying Boat for all that lovely water we have in the Kuban...

Come what may, I shall PAY!  :)

Devs mentioned there would be isolated showers with the new clouds. Any idea if those showers or towering clouds will have greater turbulence when flown into them? Clouds look awesome!

I think it's gotta be the I-153, it's the last of the sort of "original three" that I feel like have been asked for since the development of Moscow. We have the Hurricane, the IAR is on it's way, and the Chika seems like the one I've seen discussed the most along side those. The Hs-123 comes up now and again, but I don't think with the same frequency.

Do the new clouds also solve the problem with the blurry looking planes in front of them?

Posted

Great to see significant cloud improvements!

I noticed that all clouds in the images share the fuzzy edges and low optical density of cumulus and stratocumulus clouds which are about to fall apart. Will we see the introduction of healthy, billowing cumulus clouds of different sizes and thicknesses? Will clouds travel with the wind, and will they have life cycles of growth and decay?

Is there plans for dynamic weather?

Stuka D5!  Lol. :)

I'm happy with any new addition and I'll scoop it asap.

Clouds are lovely and I did get lost for a while in them.

I thought the new clouds would be good, but I wasn't expecting them to be THAT good!

Amazing work, and moving incredibly quickly too.

Will be there other tweaks/improvements coming with these - skydome and lighting for instance with the new renderer? The P51 pics from last week looked like the bare metal rendering had improved.

HEY!  Those clouds are absolutely beautiful! Including the anvil cloud!!!

Just flying into them in VR just for the simple pleasure of flying.

And with no fps cost!

After VR, this one of the things that I have been always wanted to be implemented

It's there but in the pictures of the wip cockpit Jason has shown us it's slightly obscured by the gunsight.

Thank you, I know he is. But it is unclear to me how real pilots could use it, because it is a "obscured by the gunsight"

It's not obscured when you are viewing it from the pilots head position, seated in the cockpit.

Work on the forthcoming P-51B continues and I really wanted to show you a shot of the cockpit with textures, but they aren’t quite ready for public viewing yet. But rest assured that the P-51B work is going hot and heavy. I am “encouraging” Mike as much as possible to get her done.

Willing to Venmo “Mike” money for beer  ??? to keep it going..

Honestly I don't expect the Mystery Type to be an Axis aircraft, 1C are already at the point where it's hard to fill out theatres with five Axis planes which all make sense and the continued investment in new cloud tech and fuel tech and so forth indicate that they intend to continue with Gen 3 Il-2 for some time. Collector aircraft tend to be single seaters (only ones that aren't are U-2VS and the transports) and the list of useful Axis single seaters grows thinner by the day. On the maps we have we're basically down to the 190A-7/9s, the 109G-10, the Macchi 200 and the Hejja.

Now that's an upbeat DD.

And what do we call this beauty - a storm cell? Just curious if turbulence and gusts will be modelled around such weather.
