Shimmering, SGAA and flashing, purple smoke

Hello everyone,

 

I own IL-2 since a while already and try to fight against the coastline/distant shimmering as good as I can since I hate it.

- Only 100% cure so far I found is using DSR 4k at my 1080p monitor, but this also slows the game down like constantly using the in-game slomo, and i very heavy on FPS.

- SGAA set in nvidia profile inspector seems to help a bit, but it also turns particle effect to yellow and purple and makes them flash.

Exactly how buggy can an engine be after 7 years?

Running a gainward phantom 970ti with 4 Gigs of RAM, Driver version 471.61.

 

Any tips on this are hightly welcome. :)
