AusMedic Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 G'day Gurus. I've started my multiplayer journey (in empty servers so far) and I am having issues taking off in both the BF 109 and LA's. I push my throttle forward and can't get enough speed to take off. I set my propeller pitch using the wheel on my throttle (Thrustmaster) but it doesn't register. The prop pitch key works fine in off line mode. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
1CGS LukeFF Posted October 11, 2021 1CGS Posted October 11, 2021 You don't need to worry about propeller pitch in the Bf 109. Just leave it in automatic mode. 1

56RAF_Stickz Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 if you have simplified engine management, that will work offline but not in a lot of online servers, especially for the la5 (as said 109 doesnt usually need it (E7 maybe)) else if it works offline it should be no different online 1
Dragon1-1 Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 German fighters generally only need radiator management, if that. However, do take care not to switch automatic prop pitch off by accident, and to turn it on before takeoff, in case you're using fixed pitch for taxi as the pilot's notes recommend. The prop pitch lever doesn't work in the 109 because the real plane has no lever for that purpose, instead using a switch on the throttle to set the pitch in manual mode. Quite a few German and US planes have that sort of controls. Soviets, by contrast, use mostly levers and cranks. 1
