Reload, Rearm, huh?

somehow I thought I had this under control via my key mapping.  I've run out of ammo with the Sd.Kfz.10\5.  I'm right next to the ammo truck.  Have the engine off...  I'm hammering away at rearm=RCtrl+A, no joy.  I've also tried reload with LAlt+R, also a no joy.   I can't get the d*mn thing to reload with ammo after I blew threw the 280 rounds of "stock" ammo.  Needing help, Ivan and those d*mn IL-2's are inbound... ?

The easy fix is to set the vehicle to unlimited ammo in the mission builder.  Of course if you are playing on a public server that isn't yours, well...

You could try and remap the key in game for a diff one, even going back to the old one after it works, also drive away and come back when you do it! I have found before that sometimes it gets stuck in a loop, so needs a reset like driving away

Never thought of that.  But interesting this bad boy only carries 280 rounds?  I was playing a quick mission.  I also like your tactic, run!  always good to be near a tree line I presume.

Same thing happened to me yesterday and today it was fixed.  Might have been a glitch in the mission.

Tanks rearm repair and refuel without any buttons, you must 1)be in service area 2)turn off engine 3)open hatches

Also, sometime rearm will not start before you have full primary shells(APHE) (f.e.:30 APHE+10 HE+0 APCR)  - fire 2 APHE rounds and rearm begins.

thanks for the confirm.  that's the state I was in with my Sd.Kfz.10\5.  Completely out of ammo, in the service area, and the engine off.  After the initial no joy for trying to get ammo, I fired up the rig and drove her around, then came back to the service area.  wash, rinse, repeat...  same issue, no joy with the reload.  Fired her up again, drove around the ammo truck, then shutoff the engine.  I hammered away at the reload/rearm, and somehow got ammo. 

 

(as an FYI, it was a quick mission).

Javelina thats awesome thank you I had been using the "ring-to-dot" wrong this whole time: putting just the dot on the target.  Now I get it.  The only other thing I'd add is to use RALT+. or ; to adjust the horizontal target speed.  I usually set it to about 110m per second because thats about the math on the top speed of an IL2 (420kph).....anyway hope that helps too.

all props to LukeFF, who shared with me.  Great to hear it's helping you.  I managed to "bag" an IL-2 "bully" yesterday.  That was awesome!

Are you wait to the end? When you rearm - icon rearm blinked(did it?) and it take a time, more than 5 min for all shells. Open ALL hatches to slightly increase reload speed.

If you in service area with engine turned off and icon not blinked - try open hatche(-s).

IIRC you have to be in gun commander's position to reload.

We need the Sd.Ah.51 with ammo box attached to the Sd.Kfz.10/5. Would make things a lot easier.
