I have tried this in the Technical Issues and Bugs section, but have had no response, so has anyone here experienced this config error message,  " config error found save to CFGPool.log "  it is displayed on my desktop screen when i close down BoS and then I have to open my task manager to get rid of it. are the Devs aware of the problem ?

Cheers

I have this problem too Taff, I'll be watching for any replies, as I've seriously been considering a full re install.

Something I'd really rather not do.

My problems seem to start after I installed HSD. It may be a coincidence, but I've found it to be fairly "clunky".

I'm looking forward to any replies.

Well, what does CFGPool.log show?

Re-installing IL2 would very likely solve the problem. However, there are a couple of things you can try first:

- Disable/delete all mods or other 3rd party tools.

- Make sure your OS and drivers are up-to-date.

- If you're using the Steam version of the game, you can verify the integrity of the game files instead of doing a full re-installation: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0C48-FCBD-DA71-93EB.

- If all this fails, then I'm afraid a full re-install is likely your only option.

Thanks, I don't think I shall go as far as a re-install just yet !  the error message is not causing any problems with the sim, I shall just stick with removing the message each time with my task manager.

My thanks as well AEthelraedUnraed, I've done and checked your suggestions, and had no luck.

I'm not game to do a re install , I was about to but chickened out.

If I was do do so though, would it be a case of re applying the Product key?

I have made a copy of my Graphics and Input folders, and would hope that dropping them onto the install would do the trick.

Does that sound right?

I've reinstalled twice since I got the game years ago.

No, you don't need to reapply the Product key.  It recognizes you and allows download and installation without it.

Copying the Graphics and Input folders is the best idea, especially the Input folder.  It will save you the trouble of having to completely  reset your controls.

Reinstalling is easy but could be time consuming depending on your ISP.  It will fix a lot of errors that may have crept into the game over time.
