Collector planes.....

If one has them, but can't fly them, what good are they??‍♂️

I would like to get my grubby mitts on them and at least fly them a bit. How does one obtain permission to fly the planes one has? Buy them again or what?

Once bought they're yours forever. FOR-EV-VER. Have you flown them previously? If so, they shouldn't be locked to you now.

No I have NOT been able to fly them, that's why I'm asking.......

The ones that are shown as collectors will only fly as the second flight in quick missions, so perhaps they aren't mine? If that's the case how does one obtain those? But some of the collectors I can fly, I'm confused....go figure.

Each Il-2 release came with a "standard" version and a Premium version. The Premium version has all the planes in the "standard" version, plus the " collector" aircraft for that release.

 If you have some of the collector planes, it means you got, at least one premium release, or you bought stand alone collector planes.

 You could simply select and buy whatever collector planes that you want, from the official store.

All planes will show up as "AI" controlled only, if you didn't buy them. so if you go online, or offline, you can fight against planes you don't own, but you can't fly them.

 

BTW. The 50% saving promo codes are good until today, so if you want to buy collector planes, today you could still get them at half price, once you apply the promo code.

MOne more thing.  After you buy anything, you generally have to go into your profile on the IL-2 website, and activate the key.  You've likely done this already, but nobody has mentioned it here yet, and it sounds like that could also be part of your problem.
