=IRFC=kotori87 Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 Ever since the most recent patch that fixed control surface damage for FC planes, I've noticed something very odd from my FFB joystick. Whenever I have a plane landed at an airfield with the engine off, the elevator gently pulls to the full-up position, and the ailerons gently pull to the center position. Prior to the patch, it would be completely limp until the engine was running and there was some airflow over the controls. Does anyone else with a FFB joystick notice this effect? Any idea why it happens now? And is it the correct response for the elevator of a plane whose engine is off? 1
=LD=Bulldog* Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 I use a MS Sidewinder 2 (best stick out there!) and I do not have this issue. Does it happen all the time and when the sim is rebooted? Bulldog
J2_Trupobaw Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 It happens whenever I start on the ground.
SeaW0lf Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 I would recalibrate the joystick first. If that does not work, I would go to Settings / Key Mappings and, selecting the control surfaces (yaw/pitch / roll), tap the control back and forth that the surface should get loose and align again at the center (if the control has centering). In ROF and in FC I have to do that with the rudder all the time. I can do it first on the control app (Logitech), but nonetheless the rudder is locked everytime I fire the game. Sometimes the ailerons and elevator are locked after an update, but that is not that common. I think it happened last time and I just had to recalibrate the joystick. No biggie to me.
NO.20_W_M_Thomson Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 Did you put tape on the sensor? Some do that to keep constant force on their stick. I've noticed that if I click off the main screen ( I use 2 monitors) I lose all my force on the elevator so I have to click off the screen and back on again, sometimes it works sometimes not, Try clicking off the screen or minus the screen down. Even alt tab might work.
=IRFC=kotori87 Posted September 30, 2021 Author Posted September 30, 2021 There is no tape on the hand sensor. I specifically notice it when doing ground-starts, or when safely landing on the ground and shutting off my engine. Sounds like Trupobaw experienced it too. Mostly I was confused since I would expect gravity to pull the elevator down, rather than up when no other forces are acting upon it. Now that I know I'm not a weirdo I'll find out which planes are affected and make a proper bug report.

As long as it doesn't cause you to over shoot the airfield and cause you too nose over smashing the recon plates preventing the allies from totally crushing the Germans. ?
76SQN-FatherTed Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Perhaps to do with the controls not jamming any more?
