You are the Squadron Commander of the 358^th Fighter Squadron based at Asch Airbase. USAF Group HQ had just issued orders for all Fighter Squadrons to ‘up their attacks’ against the Luftwaffe, particularly in the Rheine-Main area of operations.

A ‘round Robyn’ group of attacks had begun, keeping up a 24hr series of attacks against Luftwaffe airfields in the area. This afternoon was the 358^th’s turn and a small airfield at Babenhausen was their target.

You briefed your pilots that reconnaissance reports had been received that Babenhausen was the temporary home of the notorious JG54 flying ‘Long-Nose Focke Wulfs’ who had recently shot down 5 P47’s from the 22^nd Fighter Squadron. You warned them all to ‘be on their toes!’ – this would be a difficult mission.
