USING G25 PEDALS AS RUDDER PEDALS FOR IL2

I have found instructions on how to use the G25 pedals (clutch & accelerator) as rudder pedals with Microsoft Flight Simulator and DCS, but for some reason the method doesn't seem to work with IL2.  Has anyone succeeded in getting the Logitech racing wheel pedals to work as rudder pedals in this game?

I've used the Logitech formula wingman pedals without issue.  Just map and go.

Sadly doesn't seem to work with the G25 pedals.

First, you need ONE axis for rudder control in game.

So, if G25 clutch & accelerator pedals are two independent axes, you need merge then in one axis.

Check if Logitech software has this ability - probable had, but for brake and accelerator axes, as some arcade racing games don't have this two functions separated.

If not use Joystick Gremlin.

Since there have been 148 views of this topic, I presume there is a fair bit of interest in the community about the possibility of using racing pedals as rudder controls - it is after all a sensible and cost-effective option.  As I say in my original post, there are a number of posts both in this forum and others about how to do it, but I have yet to be successful, despite many many hours trying.  So, in case there's anyone out there who has managed to get G25 racing pedals to work, please could you explain the exact process?

I have downloaded vjoy which is up and running.  The Logitech software shows the accelerator and clutch pedals on a single axis (I've swapped the wires between the accelerator and brake pedals) and operating properly when I depress them.  However when I use the vjoy monitor nothing happens when I press the G25 pedals.  So for some reason vjoy is not recognising the G25 pedals.  I understood that vjoy automatically detects other controllers - there is no process as far as I know to 'target' or 'direct' vjoy to a particular controller (please correct me if I'm wrong).  The final frustration is that, when I go to Steam and look at the controller settings for IL2 GB, there listed after my VKB Gladiator NXT is 'VJOY Device'!  So IF I can get vjoy to recognise the G25 pedals, the game should accept the input.

Any help and advice will be gratefully received!

I wouldn't read too much into views meaning interest, for example I'm only looking because I'm bored at work and I've exhausted other threads. ?
