453=SGII_Wotan Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 hi Does the in game 190 A8 have a flat or "blown" canopy. I know we can select the blown Canopy for the Dora 9, but I'm not sure for the Anton 8. If it does not is it possible for the developers to give us that option. From most of the books I have the Anton 7 and 8 appear to have the blown Canopy Thanks Poiter 2

Earler airframes could be retrofitted with the later canopy. No stock A-7 had a blown canopy. That would only start with the A-9 and maybe some late A-8s. Edited September 25, 2021 by Bremspropeller
453=SGII_Wotan Posted September 25, 2021 Author Posted September 25, 2021 Well the Anton 8 is flying in the battle of Bodenplatte, which is Late 44 early 45 and it is part of this plane set 2
PatrickAWlson Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 I love the look of the blown canopy. Not sure that it makes a difference in VR. I think your head still stops in the same place.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 (edited) Blown canopies we’re not common on the Anton until the -9’s. It was developed specifically for the Frank series of AC for the ground attack role. It’s main advantage was the improved view downwards with residual improvement rearwards. It allowed ground attack pilots to observe targets and better asses the results of their attack runs. Regardless of year, it would, generally, be unusual to see them on the fighter versions in the field. A few -8’s and fewer -7’s. Edited September 25, 2021 by II/JG17_HerrMurf 1
-=PHX=-SuperEtendard Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 We should have it as part of the F-8 modification, it was standard with those iirc 2
[F.Circus]FrangibleCover Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 It was 'standard-for-late-1944-Germany' on the F-8 and G-8, which is to say that as many of them as they could manage got one and a whole bunch didn't. It's not really wrong to not have it, even if it would be a nice option.
CUJO_1970 Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Still patiently waiting for the guided missile mod.
Avimimus Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Maybe we'll get a Fw-190A9 in a 1945 East module someday... 11 hours ago, CUJO_1970 said: Still patiently waiting for the guided missile mod. Try Il-2 1946! It officially include the X-4 for the Ta-152C... and there are mods that put it on more aircraft.
