Announcing Oktoberfest Fly-In at Boistrancourt on the Flugpark.

Yes, it is that time again when even we Prussians at Boistrancourt become Bavarian for a few weeks to celebrate Oktoberfest!

In an effort to encourage and promote camaraderie and unique, friendly and (generally) safer forms of flying competition within the multi-player community, Jasta 5 is once again hosting a day (few hours really) of fun flying events at Boistrancourt in conjunction with the theme of Oktoberfest (which of course we all know actually begins in September!).

This years event will be conducted September 26, starting at 1700 UTC/GMT (convert to your local time), two hours before the official start of the Sunday Furball. Meet us on Flugpark Discord https://www.discord.gg/h8MRmyN.  Look for the FC Oktoberfest server.

This event is for any Flying Circus community pilots and is especially intended to encourage those not currently flying online in multiplayer to try it out and come meet members of the Flying Circus community in a fun event. It is not an intersquad competition. Pilots "compete" on their own in races and obstacle courses and consumption of their favorite beverage, and all of that is after they've successfully navigated to Boistrancourt!   Pilots of any experience level are invited to attend as long as they bring their own beverages!

Space is limited on the server and so is limited to a first come, first served basis.  Thank you to J5_Mueller for his work on this years event and J5_Rumey and J5_Matthias who brought us the original versions of this entertaining event!

Well that was fun. Turns out if you bring a 50kg bomb to a pistol fight at the finish line of the obstacle course, you can restart the race ?. I think the demolition derby would probably go a bit better without tail gunners on the two seaters, (that way you have to try to break people's props by driving in front of them) but once I hopped in Kotori's back seat I had a blast. The navigation challenge was very challenging, and I enjoyed the race. Probably need a bit of practice for the parachute jump. That was the first time I've ever successfully bailed out of a plane in IL2.
