Career Gone Why ??

Ok, will try this again. I started a career the other day, did a mission and quit for the night [it was late]

The next day, I started the game and It started to download and install Game Client [it was very big].

After it was done clicked on ' play" and when the main menu cam up, to my surprise the Career button

was not there. I had already started a career and now it was gone,

     How can I get Career back and what happened to cause this ?  I do not understand what happened to cause this

and very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated ,

Career resolved !!! Started game again and stayed on line, Career was there.

Did not know that you had to be on line to play it, I mostly play off line. I think what I did

was started Career on line and then disconnected my internet and played it. That is why

it did not show up in off line mode. Learn some thing new every day. Besides I am new at this any way.

You can google for Pat Wilson Campaign Generator, which is unofficial, alternative career/campaign engine available for this sim. I haven't tried it, but it's very popular and I believe it doesn't require onlline connection (someone will correct me if I'm wrong).

 

The default careers are managed on the publisher's server side, so yes, you need to stay online to play these.

PWCG does not require an internet connection.  All data changes are stored in local JSON files.  I don't even use a DB.  In effect I wrote my own 20 line NoSQL

 

PWCG and Career mode occupy the same basic space.  There are some pretty significant differences that cause people to prefer or or the other.
