Which PC to buy?

Hi all - 

Getting back into flying after a 10-year hiatus from IL-2 1946. I currently do not own a gaming PC but would like to get one specifically for IL-2 GB. 

 

What are the minumum system specifications I need to run the game at the highest settings? 

 

In this particular game, is there a difference between 4K and 1080P or is 1080P perfectly sufficient? 

 

I am thinking about getting a PC from ibuypower.com if anyone has recommendations for a PC, I would greatly appreciate it!

I have the same question, here's what I have now. 

Processor                            Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2310 CPU @ 2.90GHz   2.90 GHz

RAM                                      8.00 GB

System type                       64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Operating System            Windows 10

Video Card                          GeForce GT 730

When I run IL-2, I start flying and within a minute or two it locks up.  I emailed back and forth with their help desk, but they weren't much help.

Up to two years ago I was playing with a similar system, albeit only SP games at med resolution. Make sure your GPU's drivers are up to date. You may not get smooth play or high FPS, but you should not be locking up.
