Beta testers and VR implementation in the Dover series

Dear Buzzsaw, dear Pattle, dear developers of TFS...

I think beta testers for the Great Battles series have a special access (a free access in fact) to every Great Battles module or Great Battles product they test. What about the VR implementation in the Dover series? Will you, in TFS, call volunteers so that you can launche the beta-testing stage? If so... will your VR beta testers have a free access to both Blitz and Tobruk?

Is there already a VR Beta ? I don't mind buying Tobruk to try it :)

Thread title might be mistaken, however briefly, as an official notice. Doubt much incentive needed to get more than enough VR beta testers. Announcement maybe in Spring 2022(?)

Dude, if you're just here to troll this game then maybe you should find something else to do.

The requirement for members of the community to join the VR Beta Test will be ownership of a modern functional VR unit and ownership of BLITZ and TOBRUK.  We would like a good sampling of the different types of VR available if possible.

We want tests of all aircraft types in VR... which means the testers need to have both games.

Sorry... No free copies of the games will be given out for participating in these tests.

Thank you Buzzsaw for your kind and clear answer. I won't apply for beta-testing your mind-blowing game, not only because my computer is too old (no VR compatibility) but mainly because I simply won't have the time, not for the moment. Do you think you'll need two different groups of beta testers? those using VR headsets, testing VR, and those using TrackIR and other 2D-related devices, testing the game is not badly affected by the VR implementation?

I want to help in the way that you need.

TFS beta testing will benefit from the number of flight sims that already offer VR. Users of those games will likely have sorted out optimum settings for their hmd, gpu and cpu. An overclock that is innocuous in flatscreen mode might crash a game in VR. Folks running GB, DCS, FS2020 will probably already be familiar with their hardware limits and be helpful to the team in sorting a Blitz/DWT beta.

Put me on the list for consideration. I have a Reverb G2 which I love and a PC equipped with a 3080 graphics card and I have been loyal to CloD since day one years ago!

I'm just kidding but my guess is that your HMD is one the team would want to test long before a beta. Of course that testing might require NDA. IDK

We will let everyone know with an official posting as to when we are registering people for the test.

Ok, thank you Buzzsaw. Otherwise, will you need testers not possessing a VR headset? I mean: if you only hire beta testers who are using VR headsets only, the flat-screen 2D experience of the game could be affected and nobody would be noticing that. Thus my question sitll stands: will you add 2D beta testers to your VR beta testers ?

Not at this point.  We are looking for players who can assess the quality of the VR experience.  That is our main concern.

Thank you Buzzsaw, that's fine.

Please guys remember I created the present thread to ask a few questions only. This never was intended to recruit testers, I am not of TFS and, as a consequence, I do not have such power.

The visual quality of the game provided with the Visual Update for players using 2D screens won't be negatively affected by VR being implemented... nothing will change.

(and of course there will be visual improvements provided by the 4k upgrades and new trueSKY and Speedtree features.  ?)
