AusMedic Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 I'm slowly getting the hang of IL2 (spits and 109's) and know how to get out of a spin but what's the best way to avoid spins in the first place? Am I turning too hard? I'm using the Thrustmaster T:16000 with rudder pedals and throttle. I'm wanting to start Multiplayer but definitely need to sort out my flying skills first.
Hoss Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Keep your slip indicator in the middle with rudder pedals, pay attention to vibration, if you see it ease up. Keep the rudder trim very very close, keep the ball in the middle of the indicator. Hoss

Listen to the sounds outside the cockpit... in particular the sound of buffeting on the wings... and pay attention to aircraft vibration. If you have a Force Feedback joystick, pay attention to the backpressure on the stick... when the stick starts to go slack... when there is no longer any back pressure, then your control surfaces no longer have enough airflow over them to allow you to control the aircraft and it is entering stall. In all above examples, back off the intensity of your turn. 1
