Just watched the new VR update

I own the original Cliffs of Dover from a long time back (I fondly remember the good times and shudder at the bad). I have not touched it in many, many years but I always said I would try it again if it got VR. From the video I just watched it looks like that time is coming soon (quite impressive). I think I already own Blitz because I had the original and I will purchase Desert Wings. So… what am I looking forward to? Let’s see:

- Some different planes and locations certainly

- An “accessible mission editor” (love much about my Great Battles IL2 series sims, but the editor, not so much)

- Torpedoes - puts a smile on my face

- Interactive cockpits for sure

- I am assuming I will get in some pretty large scale battles on a high end machine

What are some of the other features that current owners of other WW2 sims enjoy about this sim.

Same here, enjoyed the original release of Cliffs very much (though also remember not so fondly the banana forums at that time). Bought Blitz and Tobruk to support TFS as they worked on adding VR, but have not played them yet since it'll be an investment of time getting my controllers set up.

I'm looking forward to the large bomber formations I recall from Cliffs, as well as the detailed damage modeling. I also miss the Channel map, so it'll be great seeing that again, this time in VR. I am patient since BoS is so satisfying in the meantime.

I‘m looking forward to get back into the Battle of Britain which in my personal opinion is the most thrilling air battle of the war - and I simply love those early war birds.

And yes large formations will be a most welcome change as well ^^

I've been dabbling with DynMis just letting the game run on autopilot in the background in anticipation of the VR update. I've played some CLOD before but never got get into the 2D-gunnery, so I am really excited to enter the cockpit for real as soon as VR hits.

EDIT: Oh and I am also excited about the larger amount of active AI units to faciliate more realistic battles. I think that's a really strong feature that is notably rare in simulators today.

I doubt we will know much about required system specs for optimum VR experience until well after a beta has gone live. I'm looking forward to seeing trueSKY in action in both flatscreen and VR environments. Lots of moving parts and it will be some time before we have a meaningful grasp on how it all comes together.

Add me as another looking forward to Flying in the Summer of 1940 over Southeast England in VR. Been waiting for this for a long time now.

I live on the edge of London on the Kent border, there is a large Park with a distinctive lake that is on the Map in CloD.

So I can just about pinpoint where I live :)

I was learning to fly at one point, flying out of Rochester, Kent - before reality hit and I realised I couldn't really afford it. But at least I have had the pleasure of flying in the same space as this game depicts :)

So really looking forward to sitting in a Spit over Dover, instead of a Cesna, bring it on!
