Team Fusion ATAG_Pattle Posted September 19, 2021 Team Fusion Posted September 19, 2021 Hi All, We hope you enjoy this update. As always, keen to hear your thoughts. Cheers, TFS Team. 14 5 11
Dagwoodyt Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Nice start! Looking forward to trueSKY update. 2
SCG_Redcloud111 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Awesome. Just awesome. Can't wait. 2
Eisenfaustus Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Looks awesome guys! Can’t wait to get my hands on ^^ Cool idea with the bombsight - were bombardiers able to choose with which eye they aim? If yes I‘d love to have same choice as my right right eye is only ok - my left eye on the other hand is pretty good 2
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 S! Rotation amplification is exactly what a stiff necked guy like me needs ? Excellent feature TFS! Can´t wait to see what else you have up the sleeve. 2 2
GOA_Karaya_VR Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 This is amazing, the rotation amplification for checking the 6 o'clock is stunning! ✌️
Brizzly Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Looks awesome. Great idea on the rotation amplification. I'm curious if anyone has noticed whether or not it makes them sick though. If so, I'm sure it would just be conditioning, if it's that important for someone to be able to use it, just like other VR legs. I could only play Doom in VR for about 10 minutes at a time at first. Now I've lost hours playing level after level without issue. 1 1
SCG_Redcloud111 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 I doubt it will make you sick if you have your VR legs. The Necksaver app I use for IL2 provides snap turning and accumulative, and it feels natural
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 (edited) Don't know if it's a flat screen effect or an alpha version problem, but to me this seems quite wrong. I mean: it's like if my eye can reach exactly the glass of the canopy... the vision should be few cm inside cause of the ear, helmet, etc... Spoiler Edited September 19, 2021 by ITAF_Airone1989 3
simfan2015 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 This even much more than anticipated ! Thank you so much TFS team.

I agree with this completely, You ever tried to look behind a shelf against the wall at your house? Pretty tough to get your eye exactly in line with something when your head hits the wall. This should probably be tweaked a bit Great Battle's head limits do this pretty well, although some would argue theirs are a little too restrictive. Guess it would depend on a lot of factors (head size, helmet/mask, how tight your restraints are, etc) Other than that the update looks pretty sweet! I definitely won't use the rotation amplification but I know many will appreciate it. 1
343KKT_Kintaro Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Let's compare both series (Great Battles and Dover) but, please, only when both will be VR compatible. For the moment you may say that this video shows the view is too close to the canopy's surface when that latter encloses the pilot, and you may say too that IL2 Great Battles figures this out better... but on the other hand, in IL2GB as well, when the canopy is open you can go too far with your view, as if the pilot's neck was 20 inches long. I'm not complaining about IL2GB, I love it, but my point is: all of these games (GB, CoD, DCS and others) deal with simulation and simulation is a limited depiction of aircraft pilotage. There will be imperfections, that's unavoidable. 3
The_Angry_Fox Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 This looks great! Can't wait to play.
Strewth Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Thank you so much. I bought CoD and CoD-Blitz when they came out, but with working away so much at the time, I was out of touch with a lot of it. When I got my act together again after settling down at home, I got a new TrackIR-5 as I would not fly without it. Then I discovered VR and ended up with a Reverb G2. Now the TrackIR is shelved and all flying is done with VR. To me personally, the immersion is that good and if I cannot fly with VR, I don't have any great urge to fly. I even give it a bash on IL-2 1946 through vorpx occasionally, with it being crude but fun. Anyway, I have been longing to get back into CoD-Blitz and WOT for a long time and now getting quite excited. ????? Thanks again for all of your effort. 4 1
354thFG_Drewm3i-VR Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Good update! Is TF going for OpenXR or OpenVR? I think the rotational amplitude is ingenious and helps make up for both low resolution and low FOV that current gen VR suffers from.

enyak Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Will it be possible to opt into a Steam beta to try out the VR implementation before launch? 1

I'm not a fan of early acces which is so popular in another sim ?, I think TF has different ambitions however If they will made an Open Beta for Blitz owners (which is possible on Steam too, in parallel with the standard edition) 1 month before the final release it might be a pretty good idea. What's cool, I can see it's tested with the G2 in the video so I'm sure it's gonna be great anyway. Edited September 20, 2021 by YoYo 1
Lensman1945 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 This is looking brilliant! Will be a day one purchase for me. I'm a member of the 'VR only' brigade and have fond memories of flying Cliffs way back in pre VR days. I hope the rotation amplification widget can be turned off completely 'cos most people will require a barf bag if they fly with it active ?
YoYo Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Btw. maybe not all noticed this description too (its hide below video on YT): "We are halfway through the implementation of mini map, info windows and UI screens in the VR display." 2 1
Mewt Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Its looking great. I absolutely loved flying in CoD. Tobruk will be a VR patch day purchase for me. However, I wonder how the interface UI will be in VR. Its already a UI disaster on flat screen.... adding VR to the mix fills me with dread.

This is done very well in MSFS, you have a 2D screen in your 3D screen there and it works great: Edited September 20, 2021 by YoYo 1
Dagwoodyt Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 I wonder how AI gyrations are going to translate into a VR environment. Seems like those would require high framerate or generate motion sickness if anything would.
=WoVi=cercataa Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Awesome !!!!! I hope I will not need rotation amplification in many years, I like the feeling of checing the six being difficult, like it was for real pilots. But being and old man, is nice to have it there ...
