Envisoned as the successor to the P-40 after rejection of the XP-46, it will have numerous teething problems and be hamstrung by changing specifications and shortages of desired engines. XP-60B - It will be tested with Continental, Allison, Pratt & Whitney, Chrysler, and Packard/Merlin engines, and is ultimately not selected for production.
