Power-Stranger Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 Today (17 September 2021) marks the 80th anniversary of the wooden wonder's first (though semi-unsuccessful) operational sortie. Many may choose to recognise the 20th of September 1941 as the first operational sortie (as the latter was more successful), but the former flight was truly the first operational sortie. As we await the launch of this much anticipated, devastatingly beautiful addition to the IL2GB series, does anyone know why that first mission was considered unsuccessful? Just a small trivia challenge to get the hearts pumping, the saliva glands producing and the grey matter exercising. ? 1
SYN_Vander Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 (edited) The generator failed, so no battery power for the cameras! It was a photo op over France/Spain I think. Edited September 17, 2021 by SYN_Vander 1
Irishratticus72 Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 One hour foto lost the negatives. The bastards. 1
