My Quest 2 is not recognized anymore by SteamVR or OpenComposite

Hello,

I recently got the Quest 2, and have been trying to have it set up.

I was flying in the mission editor, no problem. I afterwards got OpenComposite, and was tinkering with the graphics settings.

I used to connect via link cable, and afterwards enabled airlink. Got good connection on both.

I was away for two weeks, and if I now try to start Il2 in VR Steam VR says it cannot detect a headset, and if I run in OpenComposite I get a “Failed to create libOVR session.: -1007” error.

The Oculus software won’t detect the headset if it is connected by cable , but it will if it is connected via airlink.

SideQuest software does detect the headset if connected by cable.

I have tried all the usual stuff (reinstall SteamVR, restart computer, try different USB ports etc.).

I have trawled through Reddit, but was not able to find a solution.

I would greatly appreciate any advice.

UPDATE:

Ok, got it Il2 to launch in VR, but only through air link.

If I connect through link cable, Occulus and Steam VR still don’t detect the device (Quest at least is charging via cable), but SideQuest does detect it.

Any ideas how I can get the Quest to be detected when connected by cable?

It's disappointing.  I'm not advanced enough to go through other channels like sidequest lol...but...I set it down a couple of weeks ago, and then tonight, Saturday, nothing to do but play some IL2 and boom.  Did the update and now I can't get a connection via the cable or the airlink.  Neither are working.  At all.  Just the infinite black loading screen with three dots blinking.

Did the uninstall/reinstall.  Did the factory reset.  checked and updated all drivers.  widows updates...etc.  Even tried a few other ideas from the reddit community.  Nothing works.  All of my settings suggest that the headset is fine.  All of the connections are reading green.  Nothing at all in the software that SAYS it should not work.  As soon as i try to link, with cable or the airlink, it just goes to black indefinitely.
