Saw this on the other sim site, about freeing up VRAM.  Credit to that poster.  Pretty interesting.  (sorry if it's already posted here).

guys, test it, before you start exulting above another "miracle",

in my case, regarding VRAM, there is ZERO difference between Cliff House and Empty room, see my fpsVR screenshots
tested in status VR Ready for IL-2;   i.e. WMR + SteamVR + fpsVR

I don't have fpsVR, and based on the content of that video, I'm hesitant to get it, but I would be interested in confirmation that SteamVR, or WindowsMR (SteamVR in particular), actually runs the Home in the background while you play a game.  When you exit a game, it usually says "Starting Steam VR Home", which leads me to believe this closes when you open a different app, ie, IL2, DCS, etc.
