Virpil Joystick - no joy

Would really love to try my TC, but not having any success with using my HOTAS Virpil Joystick for my turret control.  (For the Joystick, I'm using the Virpil WarBRD base and my TM Warthog "stick").  I also have a TM Throttle and MFG Crosswind pedals.

- Via the input devices, I do have joystick selected

- When I first enter the game configuration settings, I see the joy1 (my Virpil) is selected for both the turret X and Y axis

- So the Virpil is noted in the "default" section of the turret controls, and when I go and check the axis calibration, the X & Y work just fine.

- But once I start the game, the turret control X & Y axis do not function.  I go and check via the key map settings, and the axis calibration, and sure as sh** they're not working.  But they just were when I freshly entered the game and checked before launching into my tank.

- My TM Warthog throttle is working just fine controlling the throttle and such.  Plus, my MFG Crosswind pedals are working great managing to steer my tank.

TC looks so cool,  but I'm rendered combat ineffective without my turret controls.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

TIA,

-Jav

Same with me. I'm a pilot and got TC over the weekend last. I've been using the Logitech 2D Extreme Pro for many years. I think I'm my 4th one now and that's new. Got everything set for TC using aileron turning turret and elevator for elevation and it does not work. It does with the mouse though. I'm using rudder for steering  and throttle for forward and reverse with stop in the middle and that works fine. I'm searching for a solution so I actually play this thing and not get may ass kicked.

I use Virpill to move turret and fire,  you need change option in game menu to do that.  I don't remember now the name,  out of computer now , but I will post it later.

thanks M8, any insight appreciated.  (I do have the joystick selected in the Input Devices section of the configuration settings).

I've gone as far as creating a whole new data\input directory.  Removed all of the aircraft key mappings, but still no joy with my Virpil joystick.  I'm at a loss.

My steps have been.

- under input settings, I have "joystick" selected.

- my Virpil stick is recognized when I first startup the game, and I can verify via the Axis settings that the Virpil can control the X and Y turret directions.

- It's once I launch into a quick tank mission that the Virpil does not control the turret X & Y Axis.  Yet some key mappings that I have mapped onto the Virpil stick work, (some of them).  Such the engine start which I've mapped to the paddle, and switching to the next open position, I can toggle through to each crew position.  But no luck with the Virpil being in game, and controlling the turret.

- my MFG crosswinds work just fine with steering function

- my Warthog throttle manages the forward/reverse/braking with no issue.

I can drive around all over the map, and it looks great.  It's just that I can't control my turret, nor get the gun to fire...

I'll keep digging....

edit:

would help if you unlock the turret...  (what an @$$ I am...)

I discovered the above myself yesterday. Un-check mouse and check joystick. I set turret to work with "roll/aileron", and "pitch/elevator", for elevation. I use rudder for steering, Throttle works "forward/reverse" with "stop" in the middle. Trigger fires cannon and thumb grip button fires mg. Set other key commands to buttons of your choice.

BTW. press "T" to unlock turret.
