ok so I'm back in the saddle, I just got in new stick and throttle.

they are both working but its still my busy season with work and I don't have the time to program all this stuff in.

I'm basically starting from scratch so I figure it will just be easier to learn someone else setup for controls (OR DOWNLOAD A PRESET PROFILE) than to spend days dialing mine in after so many years.

Also Trak ir 5 6dof is on the way. And I'm dusting off, literally, my pro flight peddles that have been unused since I got them, like 10 years ago. i even ordered a new pro flight headset. my Logitech was on it's last legs.

So basically I'm a rookie all over again. Even when i was flying in the original IL-2 sim I never flew with rudder peddles or track ir. So I'm not only relearning years of flying, I'm learning new controls as well.

So does anyone have an x56 hotas profile they can share? Also, if any if the old hands from back in PF days are still around shoot me a TeamSpeak link so i can catch up.

I'd been trying to get myself back into the sim last couple years, but couldn't find time to commit. And with us loosing Gypsy Bill a while back....my heart kinda droped out of it.

Man do i miss that old goat. ☹️

So yeah I'm gona need a lot of help but I'm determined and financially committed to it now.

I was really hoping someone had something for you. I've got the same hardware coming in.

I tried to find an answer using search, but didn't find anything. I will say that key bindings are so subjective that, while suggestions can help, you will end up changing things over and over until you find what works best for you. I posted elsewhere that no one is ever more than 90% complete on mapping controls, because there is always some tweaking going on!

I have separate mappings for all the planes I've flown, so when I change something not unique to one plane, I have to fix it in the other planes' mappings too. It can be a real pain.

thanks guys. lets keep looking. it's easier imo to start with an established baseline and adjust to your own needs than start from scratch. Not mention tir pro 6dof is giving me fits setting up. I'll work on it for an hour or 2 and quit. go back a day or 2 latter.

Other people profiles have been of limited use for me. That being said, have you also searched for the Saitek X55? It's pretty much the same buttons as the X56.

If you have Photoshop, here's an editable psd that I made to record the button assignments.

Thanks JG! I'll review that and start on my profile. It's helpful to get an experienced start-off point to work with. Absolutely, profiles are very personally driven but I'm sure your contribution will help. Thanks again!
