SR603-Flowbee Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) I based the skin on this profile I came across and after finding some more original B/W photos online took those into account. I had many attempts (6 final versions and about 20 screenshots) before getting to where I finally think it is finished and mostly accurate (1st and last screenshots below). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Ihlefeld https://mega.nz/file/4xNmlB5S#VnH6MA87qRG2gjR_QHueKPN7XEOUvmE0SfhMnWd4QBw Edited September 7, 2021 by SR603-Flowbee 18 5 4
Danziger Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 I feel like a broken record but, it's beautiful work as always. I look forward to a new skin thread of yours as much as DDs! 1 1 4
Hanu Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 (edited) Danziger took the words from my mouth ?. Your skins are spectacular. Just out of curiosity... Which RLM color-palette you are preferring, or do you adjust them according to your artistic eye / effect templates? As there a sooooo many palettes in the literature/internet/templates; I've usually used latest ICDP's colors as I trust he has studied those extensively. Edited September 8, 2021 by Hanu typo 2
SR603-Flowbee Posted September 8, 2021 Author Posted September 8, 2021 (edited) Yes I sample pics then look for closest match on ICDP palette to create my skin palette that I will use. Sometimes if things look too horrible I will adjust the colour to lighten or darken it a shade. I rarely go off script too much as ICDP has provided a superb palette. I don’t work from RLM numbers so much as I tend to work from b/W photos and take into account colour profiles and models. Once I have a match I go with that. ICDP palette has a great range and great colour compatibility. There are loads of charts and variations available but ICDP palette is top notch and I am very glad he has included it in the templates. The screenshot art is not representative of the skin colours as I adjust the screenshots with photo filters and also to bring the colour tones into some harmony you will notice that above the skin changes depending on screenshot. They are all done with the same palette colours though. I do not change the skin colours between screenshots. I always include the hangar shot as it is the actual baseline and unchanged.
