Weird issue - environment locked to head movement. Reverb 2

Still  getting used to this hmd. Recently and randomly after starting the game my pilots head seems to be locked to the environment. If I move my head sideways, forwards/back, up/down the entire environment moves with my head. I can rotate my head 180 degrees fine, but my head seems to be locked in a fixed position in the cockpit. I restart and clear environment data and all seems good. But it's happened three times now.

Any ideas whats causing this? I do get varying amounts of sunlight in the room. Otherwise this system is very performing well - much better than I expected from my first hmd.

You’re stuck in 3 degrees of freedom (3DoF) mode.  When it’s tracking properly you have 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF).  With a Reverb that’s almost certainly due to lack of light in your room.  The tracking cameras detect the visual spectrum, so if it’s dark they cannot see to track your movement.  As the tracking quality degrades, eventually WMR decides it doesn’t have enough data for 6DoF and drops you to 3DoF.

In my experience WMR seems to work more consistently if I make sure I have 6DoF in the WMR home prior to starting the IL-2 software.

BigGinger is absolutely correct.  Start in WMR house first with WMR for Steam.  Move your head around to make sure you are moving in 6DoF.  Then launch iL-2 in VR. If you get Cliff House moving with head then you have to reset environment or turn up the lights.

Ok thanks for the replies. This never used to happen, now it happens every day. No lighting issues.

Settings, PC settings, mixed reality, environment tab, reset environmental data.  Now go into your WMR and reset your center.

This happened to me randomly twice last week. I thought that a reboot cured it but it happened again. Shortly after it was fine again.
