Game client downloads infinitely

I normally purchase and play through Steam but I took advantage of the website only sale of Tank Crew. I Could not find a very spelled out installation plan but from what I can gather I need the game client which downloads my site purchased games. I installed this and it just downloads continuously and well past what it specifies is needed. I have to say I'm a little frustrated. I've made several attempts and according to the client and several different attempts I'm 400 gigs worth of download with no end in site.

I see now that (it appears) tank crew is linked to il2 in Steam as Prokhorovka. So I assume I can play, however I am still curious what is going on with the client and the infinite downloading.

Having the same issue.. although my installation is not through steam.  I just keep downloading.. it never ends.
