=VARP=Cygann Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Hello, I think this is one of those things that is neglected in sims for far too long. Every flight sim has a decent map we can zoom, pan, etc... But we need to you go one step further and let us do 'primitive' free hand pencil lines over it (you can see this in Guild Wars game), and perhaps small text labels. Like in MS paint. Now this is my suggestion explained in little more detai: BEFORE COOP MISSION STARTS: - flight leader can draw flight path and mark points of interest (make that lets say in black color). Everyone see this on their mission map. - everyone else can draw on the map as well in random assigned color unique to player, but their marks are visible to others only for 10-15 seconds and then they are gone. AFTER COOP STARTS: - everyone have option to switch on and off leaders flight path drawings layer (it's just an overlay over the map) - pilots can make their own marks on the map in flight I actually can't believe this is not already in all sims, since games that have very little use for the map navigation compared to flight sims have this. And also this is way more immerse then sterile mission generated flight paths with little or no info on it. Where here leader could do things like marking point of interest and even side and altitude of approach, etc... Edited June 30, 2014 by EAF19_Cyclops 1
SYN_Vander Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Yes, would be nice. In ARMA you can place icons on the map and add some text. That would be minimal functionality. But without a coop mode it's difficult to know who is flight leader. You don't want to give this functionality to just anyone who joins an online game!
=VARP=Cygann Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Well until there is a flight leader and coop implementation, there would still be nice thing if we could draw our own stuff as we can if we got a map in plastic and a marker pen in real life. Also that could be visible to others for limited time, if they chose to see it in options. And there also need to be ignore option for trolls, but that is already seen around in other games so thing special need to be invented.
