Is there a Catchment Folder?

Greetings All!

Just wondering regarding to skins. There is a lot of skins made and uploaded to share and use.  But if someone made a skin and used it in game, is there a folder il2 which captures all 'these' skins? like a catchment folder for customer skins.

Does this make sense?  Just wondering

Do you mean that if someone on a server is using a custom skin does your game then download that custom skin, and put them in a particular folder for you?

Because if so no. There is no sharing of custom skins done over the internet in the game. To see a custom skin that someone is using you have to have also previously downloaded it from forums or HSD to see it, otherwise you just see the default skin.

Remember the IL2 days the catch folder would have about 50+ skins. Some really cool skins and hilarious ones as well.

Yeah in '46 that folder was "Netcache" I believe.

With today's skin sizes, that folder would be many, many tens or hundreds of GB large if we had such a system in todays game. It's a shame it can't be done.

If I remember correctly.
In ROF you had the possibility to download historical skin packs approved by the developers. I think it is not a bad option.
