I dont know if it is realistic or not but its definitly annoying. I tried MSAA, it didnt worked. I don't use max MSAA because human eye can spot moving jagged pixel line better than just moving perfect stable pixels, another thing is that blending outer pixels by AA to background picture pixels is worst that contras pixels. Sharpen is also helpful. 1
FTC_Zero Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 Many people in my squad say, spotting is much easier in lower resolutions and no AA, your eyes spot unstable jagged pixel formation much easier. Most have better results with 1080p. I am really unhappy about that, because I want to make use of my 2k capabilities and expensive hardware. I also have the theory that monitors with good contrast/ black capabilities helps a lot. Some of us see planes all the time, while others are always blind.

I'm using native resolution 3440x1440@34"IPS Acer Predator and do spot contacts usually first. My Pixel Pitch is 0.2316 as 27" 2560x1440 (1440p). But better is 32" 1440p with 0,2767 , same as 24" 1080p 0.2767.
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 S! The sweetspot seems to be 1440p on a 32" screen as Husar pointed out due pixel size. At least on CloD works very well.

CIA_Matabo Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 One problem in diving in on a bandit that is much lower than you is as you get closer the plane needs to re-render to a different size to match the fact that you are getting closer. I've noticed that during re-rendering of the new size the plane may disappear for a second. Also as a has-been real pilot spotting other aircraft is very hard.
