Azdack Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Hello I'm not used to Mission Editor but I'd like to know if there is a way to modify the conditions of success in scripted campaigns through Mission Editor tool. I mean having a successful mission despite a belly landing or a broken propeller by landing or no kills at all or a bailing out on friendly territory...briefly to have a successful mission by staying alife only. Both conditions to have a failed mission would be KIA or POW. Thanks in advance for answers.

Hello, if you have little experience with the ME I would advise you not to change anything in the finished missions. I myself have been working intensively with the ME for 2 years and still don't know everything perfectly. Writing a good campaign takes several months, so any change should be very well considered. 1

The others... it's best to contact the campaign's designer. 1
Jaegermeister Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 If you have access to the mission files, yes, you can change the parameters for mission success. It is determined by a Mission Objective translator set to "Primary Task" and "Success" applicable to the players coalition. You would have to locate the Mission Objective translator in the mission or missions and alter the trigger inputs to your liking. If you are unfamiliar with the ME, that would be a good way to learn about it, haha. I can see it taking a while to decipher various people's logic. As Luke mentioned, I would not recommend redistributing altered files. if you do change them for your own use you can do whatever you want with free files.
Azdack Posted September 3, 2021 Author Posted September 3, 2021 Thanks to all for your answers. I've visited forums, opened the mission editor with a mission of a scripted campaign scrolling all the menus trying to find out the parameters for mission succes/ mission objective translator set to primary task....briefly trying to find out the way to have a success mission just by staying alife allowing to play the next mission of a scripted campaign but that mission editor seems to be a very complet and interessant tool needing hours to spend to learn to use it and I prefer to spend those hours of my free time to fly and to play. Anyway I have other opportunities then scripted campaigns to play as PWCG or career mode for instance. A little bit pitty for me because I like those missions into a scripted campaigns but to play and to play again the same mission in order to have success is a little bit a boring above all when you land back and break your propeller or withous a kill but alife. Thanks again for your answers.
