this mod considerably improves cockpit view clarity for many planes, by reducing tint on glass

Any chance you could clean up the armoured windscreen on the P38 please? I think the file is the one attached but I have no idea of how to drive gimp or similar tools in order to get at the image of the dirty front glass.

Sorry I got the wrong file I think now. I finally figured out how to turn off the alpha layer on a dds and it seems like it is the p38 dds already in the mod pack (planes 2.zip). I still have no idea how to clean up the armoured glass. Every attempt seems to stuff up the alpha layer when you switch it back on. Lol hopefully roncik visits soon as I think probably for someone who knows what they are doing it is a 10 min job. For me it's going to take a loooonnnggg time ?

 

Going to delete the attachment in my earlier post in case it confuses someone.

 

 

<edit> Ok I might have got it right perhaps. If you would like the armoured glass to be squeaky clean on the P38 try the file below and see if it works for you. Suggest backing up roncik's version in case you don't like this version.

I installed the mod and it smoked my cockpit, I can't see anything inside or out. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled and still the same problem. My fellow pilots also installed it and it works perfectly, what can I do?.

 

It happens to me with all the airplanes I downloaded from the mod.

Hi. This is strange ,might be relevant to dx10. do you have dx updated? does this happen to all planes or only to fw190? it happened to me also...

try this file for fw190d9 if it works for you? it uses old dx9

..right ,this could be smoke caused bug..

You were right, it worked perfectly, but I have the latest version of DirectX (DX11). Can you send them to me as you have done with the D9, I would be very very very very grateful. 
My flying buddies to whom I passed your mod, have been praising it for the excellent image quality you offer.

so am i correct, attached fw190d9 works and previous files doesn't?

you can try installing some dx10 components from official site first. than check again original versions.

otherwise i'll resave them..

I have all DirectX 11 drivers updated, yet the mod still doesn't work properly. Could you please adapt the mod for all planes for DirectX 9 or 11, since my computer doesn't support DirectX 10?

ok try this and let me know if it works.  this is dx9 version since there is no dx11 option..

The cabins now work as they should. If you can, send everything you can adapt with the same conditions, let's see if it works with the rest of the planes (I have all the planes, DLCs included).

thanks ,no problem. i hope this mod will become an official soon..

check this dx9 resaved files and confirm if they work. so i can drop support for it

some planes such as fw190a series, late spitfires, tempest and typhoon, yak9 and 9t use same .dds files

so if you need them, just copy and rename. for example put  yak9s1_g.dds   to   data\graphics\Planes\Yak9Ts1\Textures    folder and rename it  to   yak9ts1_g.dds

well since i don't have this aircraft , it is a guess to tweak right.

i can see that it has clean native plexiglass but with many dirt stains for toughness realism.

so i cleaned that stains on front part. you can check this version, if you prefer it over native.

Noticed that after the last patch I'm not getting rain drops showing on the P51D canopy with this mod. Any thoughts about how to go about fixing things so you can have a clean canopy and still get the rain effect?

I don't think there is a unified download in this thread. You need to begin with downloads in first post and then layer on the ones that came later kind of like patches.

 

As mentioned just prior to your post the P51D canopy in the download is nice and clear in game but doesn't get the rain effects when flying through rain post last game patch. Hoping ronick or someone who knows what they are doing can look at it and fix it. I don't know if anything else was impacted by the last game patch.
