Uriah Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Like in the Lagg 5? I am thinking going to stage two at above 3,000 meters I should hear a difference and see a difference in speed.
FuriousMeow Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) You will see a difference in speed, it won't all of a sudden surge forward but during level flight you'll see that you can achieve a higher speed than if you didn't have the supercharger engaged. You'll notice the MP gauge go up as well. As far as change in sound, what do you expect? It's not going to increase RPMs dramatically which would cause a sigificant change in audible feedback, its just compressing the air that is fed into the engine so that there is more available air inside the cylinders for combustion - so at best the engine should only sound just like itself at low altitude because its being fed the amount of air it would have at lower altitude (give or take, not exact). Pringliano Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) I see the MP jump and ntoice the speed increase and the RPMs adapting to it. My only term of comparison is DCS World's P51d, where we ear it comming up, at the same time that we get a kick... I think there sshould indeed be som sort of audible signal of the turbocharged kicking in... Edited June 29, 2014 by jcomm
s8n Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 or at least a red to green light or something ...are they going to make anymore things for the simple gauges like a flaps indicator or an indicator for supercharger ?... i'm sure there are more but i'm drawing a blank lol D~

The SC kicks in and the MP shows it, just like in the real aircraft. The p51d and other models did have annunciator lights for the active SC, but I'm not sure if there were such lights in any of the models presently simulated in IL2 BOS?

Flap indicator is forward on the low left. Check out the cockpit guides on the forum.
III/JG53Frankyboy Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 the supercharger is always activated btw, you 'just' changing its speed.
