Bungmiester Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I like Stalingrad without the smoke as in the IL2 ground attack mission in this weeks update, looks alot better , also graphics seem clearer and getting a better FPS . any chance to have an option to turn the smoke on and off ??? SharpeXB Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 That might be a good option in the advanced graphics settings eventually. More or less smoke. It would also be amazing if the smoke followed the particle physics model from the wake of the aircraft. The DN engine actually models this but showing that effect for millions of smoke particles... well not really possible. Yet... 1
FuriousMeow Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) That might be a good option in the advanced graphics settings eventually. More or less smoke. It actually wouldn't be. That's like clouds on or off. It doesn't work for multiplayer and would ruin it because some people could put the graphics at nill and have an advantage - and there are a lot of people that would do that in a heart beat. Smoke, clouds, anything that impacts visibility needs to be global so that it impacts all players evenly. Edited June 29, 2014 by FuriousMeow 1
1./JG42Nephris Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I would also be in for a Stalingrad map without smoke, and /or activate it via FMB by a mission builder as predefined object/script. Maybe it will be possible with a "proper fmb" in 3 yrs.
FlatSpinMan Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I agree it'd be a nice option, but as the angry pussy says, it must be for all players, otherwise some people would exploit it. 2
DD_Arthur Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 option in the advanced graphics settings Er....which preset will that be?
Bearcat Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I think it would be great if it was a server side setting..
Feathered_IV Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 At the moment the smoke turns on and off for me every five to ten seconds. So really, I have the best of both worlds.
