Hand Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Hello there! I thought of a suggestion that would help me on my office rig. I frequently use mouse direction when playing in the office (shhhhhhhhh). I always play Iron Man, and I have found that many of my ill fated pilots met their end from blacking out while I was performing ill advised aerial nonsense that no sensible pilot would ever undertake. Well, actually, it wasn't so much the blacking out, as it was the violent and extremely sudden landings. Anyway, if Pookie Schmidt, or Banjo Weber, or Doodles Dietrich, or Jolly Stein, or Gabby Strusseldorf (from Dusseldorf), or Scooter Weib, or Mittens Vormelker would have let me know that they were at the end of their G-limit, they may have survived into the 1970s. Of course, I have been trying to monitor the numeric G-force indicator on the HUD, but sometimes I forget! Let me arrange my suggestion in accordance with the guidance from the 'Thread to gather your suggestions.' Type of improvement: Interface Explanation of proposal: I imagine the somewhat immersion busting solution of applying the 'blackout overlay animation' experienced in cockpit, out of cockpit in third person. Same animation layer would be just fine for me. The closing in of a black tunnel focusing on the center would be an excellent visual cue. As I mentioned, it might seem out of sorts, but I am flying slightly behind my plane and controlling it from the future anyway, so no biggie. Benefits: It would have prevented some deaths that would have been entirely avoidable if I had just stayed in first person! This is a simulator after all! Get a stick and throttle you pleb! And some rudder pedals! And a headtracker! Death to arcade! Thanks!
