Denum Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 (edited) Not sure how many of you saw this. They're restoring a P39 in Edmonton and need some extra bodies to make it happen. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/alberta-aviation-museum-airacobra-1.6105141 I had considered volunteering, but unfortunately I've picked up so much work I don't think I'll have the time. I may still try to get up there at some point if they'll have me because frankly it's just too darn cool to pass up. Edited August 20, 2021 by Denum 1 2
J2_Seya Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Nice I'm in Sherwood Park. I'll have to check it out
hedger72 Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 My fav WW2 fighter being restored in Canada!? Oh man, this is awesome! As much as I am salivating to volunteer, being 3300km away would make for one heck of a commute. ? As an aside, here is a real interesting read about how in 1940, the P-39 was originally chosen by Canada to be their primary home-front fighter type. Unfortunately (?), due to production delays, it never materialized: https://www.cahs.ca/services/articles/article-archive/454-the-bell-p-39-airacobra-in-the-rcaf-updated
