I will be using them for future videos and you will be properly credited. I have Kittel's skin, but I am unable to find any information on the plane Lang was shot down in. thanks for any help! sevenless Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 (edited) It most likely looked similar like these, except that it was green 1 + green bar. Lang was CO of II./JG26 when he was shot down 03/09/44. On 3 September 1944, Emil Lang was killed in action when his Fw 190 A-8 (Werknummer 171 240—factory number) "Green 1" hit the ground and exploded in a field at Overhespen. Here are a some examples of what I have done in the past which are in the same ball park to give you an idea when deciding. It also depends on the time scale I guess. The Black 10 is different from the Sundin pic because I also took into account another profile I found (just in case you are wondering). You can find other examples under my profile. Your example similar to Kittel's final plane is great. For Lang I assume it would look like what sevenless said above, but as Green 1 with a bar. I don't mind about time as long as it's reasonable I suppose. Thanks again! Soto 1

It started off lighter and more grey but going with the Claes Sundin profile I've darkened the green, made the grey more violet/grey and made the sky blue more greenish. The mottle needs some grey/violet and sharper elements and there is a stencil flip error in the template that needs fixing. The progress is good and here is where I'm at so far. The spinner I will leave as is. Is the Haken Kreuz to be removed? 4

Just let me know if you want changes made as I have the templates to make that simple enough. I have kept it simple because I don't know the timescale however I will probably carry on with some more ideas and will post updates when I finish and/or if anything interesting comes up. Also if an actual profile or photo shows up I don't mind restarting. Same skin shown below but different lighting. Small speculative remark as to the green number. I have never seen them with black borders only with white borders as with this one from staff JG 300. However just a small remark. 1
SR603-Flowbee Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 (edited) Ok, thanks. I changed it to black to to make it stand out better but I can change it to white again real quick. Maybe change the green to more visible as in example as well. Might redo the mottle completely as well as it looks a bit too recycled. Update - I wasn't sure about the black surround on the green bar but having looked deeper it turns out that this is common. White and black were used to make the marking stand out. I think the confusion might come from the fact that on a B/W photo a thin black border around a green number would not show whereas a white border would be highly visible. Another guess. I had to fix the 'door' flaking as two aircraft with a very distinctive mark like that is pushing credulity. I also added some leading edge wear.
