TEShaw Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Sorry for all redundancy. Just to be clear to my brain.... As per the title, I simply have to be running Steam VR for Oculus C-1, Rift-S or Reverb G2 ... for IL-2 in VR? Thank you. regards, Aircraftman T. E. Shaw
dburne Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Not necessarily for Oculus. You can use Open Composite instead with Oculus product. https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/9nxixe/systemwide_installation_for_opencomposite_released/ Other headsets like Reverb, Valve, Vive - yes Steam VR is required. Back when I was using my Oculus Rift and then Rift S, I found better performance using Open Composite with IL-2. 1

86Cheese Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 You can also use Oculus Homeless. This disables Oculus Home and opens up the solid 4Gb of RAM and 2Gb of VRAM its always eating up in the background. When I was still using a CV-1 this got me a fairly considerable bump in performance.
