What fighter of non-German origin would you be most interested in?

They liked the P-47 pilot comfort, though. For squadrons that were solely tasked with high-alt interception anyway, my impression from pilot memoirs is that the pilots liked it.

IAR-80 looks like a Focke Wulf and a La-5 had a one nighter and this is the baby. I love it!

BTW.

In the mail just showed up a new book on the IAR-80. It's written by Radu Branzan.

It's not  so much about the actions or pilots who flew the type, (that's well covered by Dan Antoniu), but a very detailed book on the actual planes. A modeler's dream.

370 pages of detailed drawings of every version, batch or series of the planes. most likely around 1000 photos, some sixty color profiles. All systems explained with detailed factory diagrams, from engine, electrical system, hydraulic system, cooling, weapons, bombs and all the way to seat belts and tires used on this planes. :o:

The publisher has a youtube video with the contents of the book. have a look:

I am all for Macchi. On fsx there was a freedownload developed, you had to install about 4_5 updates over the baseline and i stuck it out, did all of them. Beautifull aircraft....actually i would accept any additions to the bos hangar. For me the game opened up yesterday (thanks devs)....more good times ahead, now much just find time to do all i want.

Good to see you again.

Could not agree more with your choices.

You know this thread is about the next Axis plane? ;) The title isn't well chosen for sure.

Despite historical legitimation I also preferred the Mc 202 over the IAR, just for personal reasons.

Actually both deserve to be ingame and maybe devs implement the IAR in future - there'd enough russian counterparts to implement in return.

As for now I'm eyeballing with the Macchi and exited to see it ingame this year.

around 350 IAR80-81 involved in eastern front, especially in Stalingrad.... a few folgores flew there and voila: 202 Folgore is in the game before the IAR....

not buying the game anymore, not me not my buddies.... don't get me wrong, i like Folgore and i really wanted to see it in game but this wasn't very nice to pick it before IAR80 so i'l just stick with CoD for now...

After the announced I-16, I think I'd most like a Ki-27 and some open grassland.

Agree 100%.No buy from me too.

Choosing the Folgore over Iar-80 was a crappy move.I guess the historic facts are not important. You choose a plane that had nothing to do with the eastern front over a combat proven eastern front legend ,Iar-80.

Great decision,genius.
