New to Flying Circus - Questions

New guy here - but an ROF veteran.

...and yes, I've checked out the FAQ

But I do have a few questions:

  1. What do the FPS numbers in the upper left hand corner of the screen stand for?
  2. How do I get rid of camera shake in external view?
  3. I have FC I and now the FC II early release, FC II is still missing the new map and campaign, correct?

Please add anything you like.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

1. Top is FPS, bottom is your FOV

2. Go in the settings and there is a little checkbox for "cinematic" view in camera settings.

3. Yes i think its missing half the planes and the map. You get them as they are released.

OK, two more:

  1. What is the blip switch key?
  2. How do you set convergence?

Thanks.

Away from game now, so going from memory…

Blip is under settings, key mapping, engine controls. Should be labeled clearly, I recall seeing the word blip in the binding.

Convergence can be set when you’re customizing your aircraft load-out. It’s near the bottom of the screen. I think mine is set to max, and I have never changed it. I’ve heard that adjusting it doesn’t have an effect on WW1 aircraft. I can not verify those claims however.

Luckily, most firing is from short range and guns are mounted right next to each other on most aircraft.

Engine blip switch (ignition interruption), that's the name of the binding under engine controls. the default key is "LSht + E". It's used to turn the engine ignition off for short durations. This can help in a dive, keeps you from over reving, and during landing and to help in turns. But don't hold it for too long, the engine will stop. Oh, btw it's only on rotory engines.

TY Salty and Ghost.  And I get what you mean about the blip switch.  I fly ROF - a whole lot.
