sammcgee71 Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Hi All, I recently upgraded my Video Card from a GeForce 1050ti to an AMD RX 5700 XT. I had incredible performance increases with DCS and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 but my frame rates sit between 10-20 in IL-2. I have changed settings from Low to Ultra, MSAA to FXAA and back, and everything I can think of. I have also reinstalled the game twice. Has anyone else seen this with the AMD RX 5700 series card perform like this? Is there a cache folder that I need to clear? I am at my wits end on this! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Specs below but I know my computer can handle it since I saw the frame rate drop when I switched out video cards. Windows 10 i5-7600K CPU @ 3.80GHz 3.79 GHz 32.0 GB RAM AMD RX 5700 XT SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB - M.2
Jason_Williams Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Make sure you're not running the Intel integrated graphics which I've seen happen before. This is not the game this is a hardware setting issue from what I can tell. Jason
Dauntless Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Check your BIOS setting to be sure you are not using the integrated graphics setting, also make sure your video card is in the primary slot!
Denum Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 (edited) Turn off HDR and SSAO. Make sure V-Sync is off also. For some reason the HDR absolutely murders the 5700. I have a 5800X CPU but will post my settings here shortly with a few little thing I found that really made my game pop. Edited August 18, 2021 by Denum 2
Denum Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I average 116 FPS with these settings at 1440P, Color settings are mine, mileage may vary. Cheers 1
Denum Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Forgot this setting also, got rid of my intermittent stutters (which is nuts considering my rig) For some reason turning off HCDP helped also!
RossMarBow Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 If your frame rate is 10-20 your running on integrated graphics not your discrete. So sort that out first. But you should run the above settings also for optimal performance.

This also works a treat for the 6800XT too...! I had posted my own issue in another thread, though trawling and finding this nugget is its own gold...! Now getting similar graphical output all very similar to another 'well known aviation sim' as well as expected GPU load etc. Thank you Denum! Upvoted.
