controlling the aircraft in VR

Hi,

I have a rift s and I can get by with auto engine control on some of the offline missions, but how do you control everything on the online servers? I went into combat box and I could not start the P51 because I had no controls for the mixture. I take it you must do manual engine control on some servers? I have 2  joysticks a throttle and rudder pedals . I have 16 buttons and 2 hat switches and that's not nearly enough to control everything. How do you do it?

Thanks for the replies. I use voice attack and it is good, I like it a lot but it to requires memory too and at 61 mine's not very good. Maybe I need a supplement.  ?

Have it all on the HOTAS and various button boxes. Muscle memory after a while.

I prioritize things I would need to use in combat mapped to HOTAS buttons (prop pitch, air rads, weapons, vr zoom, trims, emergency power, view recenter on mouse).

 

The rest, like landing gear, fuel mixture and the like I have on keyboard and can do from memory but can take a peak if I'm not in combat if I need to.
