Is the paypal for Canvas Knights still safe and is the creator still active?

Hello, I have never really been a huge fan of modern games and even though I have quite a few none are really what I have wanted for a World War One flight simulator. I came across Canvas Knights and it is very dated yes and most of these planes can be found in ROF or IL-2 Bat both of which I have but it has few aircraft that I would love to have and fly. Something about the good old picture textures and ancient and very obvious self lapping gun sound effects brings back good memoires from when I was younger. But I can see this mod is very old and has not been touched for some time and which is why if I pay 30 dollars to purchase it will I get the game or will I be scammed. I see you also have to send an email and wait for the key. If he is still active I am more than willing to buy the game but if he is no longer active then it is not worth my time. I have no idea who he is just that is game looks really interesting.

I can't say that I am an authority on this sim,  but a quick search on the "combat aces" forums shows no updates for a few years.  Maybe the dev is active somewhere else,  but with what I've seen,  I don't think it's an active project anymore. 

 

If I may suggest another ww1 sim,  I'd say check out Wings over Flanders fields. It's still developed,  had a large expansion earlier this year and gets updates fairly often. I've gotten a whole lot of milage out of my purchase of that sim. It's a very good single player title with a large number of flyables and pretty good AI.

I have been planning on getting that one as well. I just really wanted Canvas Knights because it had a lot good mods including a sheet metal Junkers but I worry if I buy the game and email the guy I will never here back and it will 30 bucks down the drain. But thank you for the advice!
