taffy2jeffmorgan Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Hi All, Is it possible to minimize the flight sim with Windows 10, I have been adjusting my TrackIR and have to reload the sim each time that I need to check the adjustments. Cheers
Oyster_KAI Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Just uncheck full screen and use "tab+alt". 1
J2_Jakob Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Or keep fullscreen checked and just hit the Win key... That's what works for me when I need to switch between any opened apps while IL2 is running and alt+tab just doesn't do it.
Trooper117 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Yep, just hit the windows key... works every time.
Winkysmith Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) That’s funny, the windows key doesn’t do anything for me. I have to close the game to get out of it. Edited August 17, 2021 by Winkysmith

That's strange. What does alt-tab do (note that you do need to have another program running)? And ctrl-alt-del -> Task Manager?
jollyjack Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 On my system (Win LTSC) the win key does nothing. Alt-Tab works however. But i have classic shell running.

And ctrl-alt-del -> Task Manager? Alt-tab switches between running programs, but doesn’t take me out of IL-2. Any program that I switch to is just layered over the IL-2 screen, if you take my meaning. I Haven’t tried ctrl-alt-del yet. I’ll try that when I get home a bit later (I’m in Aus). I actually didn’t try to troubleshoot it until I saw this thread, as I just thought it was a thing with the game client. With Steam games, I can just hit the Windows Key and it’ll take me out of the game, however.
ATAG_Headshot Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 A lot of gaming keyboards have a setting to disable keys like "Alt Tab" and the Windows key when it detects a game from running. If you have a gaming keyboard maybe check your software for it, or see if there is a button or toggle on the board itself to enable/disable windows functions. It's specifically designed to make it so that you can't accidentally switch apps when a game is running. 1

You need to have a window to alt + tab into if that makes sense So either open up idk file explorer window or something and leave open in background "Alt-tab switches between running programs, but doesn’t take me out of IL-2. Any program that I switch to is just layered over the IL-2 screen, if you take my meaning." That's how it works with the recommended il-2 setup, I think if you change it too fullscreen window'd or something it will minimize, but its not recommended for performance reasons.
