javelina Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) Just curious. What is the appropriate take off speed for the JU-87? I generally ease my throttle to about 30-40%, try to keep the bird on the center of the runway, and then continue to power up. But also having to give a fair amount of right rudder to keep her running true. once I reach around 60mph, I push the stick down to lift the tail, and use further rudder adjustments to keep things tidy. Once over 100mph, I pull back a bit, and let her lift off, and continue a gentle climb to gain speed, etc. Once I reach a safe altitude, I'll then start with the trim adjustments. What's the best approach speed, for a clean bird, and then for the bird that has the 37mm cannons? come in at around 100mph, and then flare out at the right moment? any input would be appreciated. -Jav Edited June 28, 2014 by javelina
71st_AH_Hooves Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 All i know about the stuka taking off is that with the 1800 mama on board it doesnt want to take off at all!
CreepiJim Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I did a writeup for the Stuka from the original manual. I hope it helps. Used to work for me when I still was flying. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/5395-my-cem-settings-those-having-difficulties/?p=124210

Although I wonder why do we need to open water/oil rads while taxiing? In BoS I usually close both rads and the temps still drop while taxiing (need another quick warm-up on runway).
CreepiJim Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I guess the manual did not include instruction for Stalingrad temperatures :D As I said, these are original procedures and the game does not simulate every aspect of the engine management, so some are not working or not as they should.
=CFC=Conky Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) An approach speed of 200-220 km/h, gradually reduced to cross the runway threshold at 160-180 km/h works well with every aircraft currently in the game. Good hunting. Edited June 28, 2014 by CFC_Conky
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Just keep attention while flaring out as with full flaps the Stuka produces a hell of lift making you tend to bounce if pulling too harshly. With 20-10% fuel 150km/h should be good to go (approach with 180km/h works good for me).
